can you re gear honda automatic tranny

Can you re gear a 95 accord automatic tranny, Put taller 3rd and 4th gear so at like 65 mph the rpms would be at 1,800 or 1,900 instead of 2,500???

It may be easier to change the final drive gears than to change both the 3rd and 4th drive gear sets. It might be economical if you did the work yourself and if Honda made a lower ratio final drive that would fit in that particular transmission (I don't think the VX final drive would fit).

You can see schematics of the transmission gears at https://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

You could have a machine shop make a new set of final drive gears- but you would likely pay at least $750 for them.

Automatic transmission re-gearing? Ooh, you're going to have a very VERY hard time doing that, the planetary gear sets are VERY interdependent. You'd be significantly more successful to try to find a new final drive ratio to modify all the gears, you'd be even more successful to find a transmission that was already built with the higher gear ratios that might bolt up to the transmission with little to no modification.

Depends on the shop. some will, some won't due to liability from modifications. You'll have to ask the shops near you.
