OEM VX Thermostat temp
 
Please somebody has to know this. What is the correct temp for the VX theromstat. I even called honda and they said they dont know...180, 192, 195?

I would think its 195F

Yep, 180.

EDIT: I did change mine to a 195df thermostat. No discernable difference.

I heard somewhere if you screw with the thermostat temp it effects the lean burn. If honda thought they could squeeze 1 more mpg out of the D15z1 by moving up to a hotter thermostat i think they would have...just my thoughts for those folks running hotter. I am sticking with OEM specs..thanks though..

I found out yesterday that I was running with literally half of a thermostat in the Stratus. The car was never getting up to temp and staying there. The lame part? I had this done 20k miles ago and didn't think to replace it until now. Not surprisingly, the same mechanic that I had 'throw' one in there(didnt think he'd break it in the process :eek: ), also botched installing the timing belt I was really paying him for in the first place.

Still gotta replace his botched work...
