what tractors will run on 100% straight veggie oil?
 

anyone know what tractors will run on 100% straight veggie oil SVO/WVO not bio-diesel fuel. i am looking for used ie cheap 40hp area to work ~55 acre farm ran with yearly 1/3s one third grass fed critters(dexters/heritage turkey mullard) 1/3 market produce 1/3 low input oil seed/millet/corn/wheat as feed for me or critters marketing any excess. beyond organic grown as clean and healthy as possible. i dont think it right or healthy to to claim organic and burn fossil fuel to produce and ship cross country or globally
so i am trying to find what tractor model are more favorable to convert.

The problem with running straight WVO over long term is that it will gum up the engine and injectors. You can make a quick, crudely refined biodiesel by heating the oil and skimming the top layer off and discarding it. In a separate container mix 16 oz methanol with about a tablespoon of lye, then mix that solution with one gallon of the rendered WVO. This should help in preventing the engine from getting gummed up too quickly, but even with this recipe its not refined enough to prevent the gumming up of injectors, just delay it.

I wrote a long piece then the computor froze!!! AAARRRGGG!
So, to sum up, Start on diesel bring the engine up to temp so the oil won't stick to the reletively cold surfaces. If your running straight oil though, yeah, depending on engine type, it probably will gum up after a while.
If your buying a second hand tractor, they're pretty much all mechanical inj anyway so it doesn't matter which one. If your buying new, none will have a warranty if you stick anything but diesel (i think JD is allowing B-5 now) anyway.
Start/stop on diesel, run on wvo.
Oh, something else, if your going to run straight oil, you better be in a REALLY warm climate!
