Buy Shocks Replace Tires

Form the looks of things, this guy's expensive shock absorbers caused his tires to wear out faster, not slower.

Those are for hardcore off-roading and the people using them have big budgets. They aren't too worried about how their tires will wear on the road.

I suspect that the owner of the truck in the picture isn't too concerned about driving off-road either, though.

Back in Africa....we laughed heartily at an idiotically placed hose that would easily get torn off by a branch or something, like mud, caught by the tire.

they spent all the money on shocks and forgot to actually change to a better suspension design or maintain other parts...like ball joints and tie rods. Fancy shocks can only do so much when you're running a solid axle still.

Solid axles are preferred for off-roading, and people spend thousands of dollars converting to solid axle from independent front suspension.

Unless they're off-roading at more than 5 mph in which case they use long travel independent suspension. Independent will work better it just takes a lot MORE money to do so. nevertheless, a solid axle set up for off-road (or just fancy springs/shocks on the stock arms) will chew tires up. not to mention knobby tires will wear unevenly just because of tread flex.
