Some of the codes, like 0000, may just be nonsense. When I've used a scanguage2 to pull codes, I always seemed to get three. Two would be an unpublished code or something like a body code. The other one would be a legitimate one, and when corrected for and cleared, the others wouldn't come back.

update...
cut and patched the manifold and "ungrounded" the wiring harness from the intake bracket. 0141 and 1298 codes are gone, but the 0135 remains. tested the upstream O2, it tested bad. just for giggles, tested the downstream one, and it tested fine. ordered a denso replacement for less than $50 w/ advance auto parts coupon. got free shipping because no advance in my area stocked one :confused: |

Are the upstream and downstream sensors the same? Can you try switching them and see if the code follows?

they have different part #s, so i doubt it. but, i haven't tried.

if it's the heater circuit, just replace the sensor and call it a day. I recently had to change an oxygen sensor for the 2nd time (first time was about 7 yrs ago) because of the heater circuit. mine ran $80 so 50 is not too bad.
honestly, this year I am putting money back into my car. another strut, rotors for the front, fix broken wheel stud, and a set of tires (mine are dry rotting). if you are getting out of it with a patch and an o2 sensor, you are doing good. |

well, you know what to do about tires. check tire rack, print your quote, and ask a local shop to match. heck, some shops have sales right now as good or better than TR.
got a set of michelins well under $400 out the door including road hazard! |

there is a local shop that will do the whole thing for me for $340.XX so I didn't think that was too bad. I have to replace the stud first or they won't touch that tire. it isn't hard to do but finding the time to do it. i have been putting in 55-60 hour weeks here lately so this weekend may be a car weekend.
good luck on your project. for the record, I have passed inspection and have my new tag. I just need to take care of these issues so it will actually last that extra year, 2 years, 3.... you get the idea. |

still no codes, but fuel mileage and acceleration still doesn't seem up to par. wondering if the cat went bad since it was driven for who knows how long w/ a manifold crack and bad O2 sensor.

I've had a couple cars with really bad cats...like any obstruction in the exhaust system, a plugged cat will really sap a car's joie de vivre.
Don't know about Hondas, but after a similar problem with a Plymouth Voyager, I'd say $200 would be a fair price. And it that's what's wrong (and it probably is) it should solve all your problems. Enjoy! |
