Re: 1992 Civic VX FYI

Wow the guy that was dogging me before got banned! All well. Well hey. I have not been on the site for quite a bit and have been driving my car for a while. I am not happy with the MPG and want to try to fix it. the car is only getting 40mpg on the highway and 28 in the city. Also the engine can barely stay running at idle when the AC turns on. I have a free flow exhaust and was thinking about putting the stock manifold/cat on and getting a new o2 sensor. Do any of you think this will help or have any better suggestions?

As I understand, the VX is very sensitive to having the proper manifold/cat and a good, proper (and unfortunately expensive) O2 sensor. Your plan sounds like a good idea.

Glad to hear this is working. I've got an '89 CRX that has some wonky stuff going on - I need to change the ignition module to get the tachometer to read right and not have it shut off when too hot. Honda troubleshooting can be hard sometimes.

Thanks for the advise. I have put so much time into this car for it to run this bad. I will update you on the status of this when I complete it.
