Civic HX water pump, dumb design?
 

Anyone know why they would put that extra gear that adds wheight and more mass for the motor to turn on the water pump?

I have not compared the HX to the VX water pump yet, have them at home, but would it be smarter to use the VX on the HX?

If I can snap pics I will post them.

The pumps appear the same, just checked, the wheight is only slightly more than the VX, the extra gear adds a little more, but the shaft is most of the wheight.
