Re: 88 civic, engine mount problem, please help
it's the mount near the belts, on the old engine the the mount attached to two diagonal bolt while this engine the bolts are straight across. i tried buying a different mount but it would not fit into the car

I'm a little confused, are you physically able to use the mounts you were using with the old engine? I just want to know if this is an issue of you sourcing the right mount or if the mounts that all the mounts, both new and old are incompatible from the get go.
Have you consulted this guide? https://www.crxmpg.com/crx-d15z1-civi...my-swap-guide/ |

so the bracket on my new engine has two prongs, both and even distance from the engine. while the mount from my old engine is set up for diagonal prongs so this mount will not fit. I'm not sure of the original mount from a d15z1 will fit but i think it will be too wide to fit the insert on the car frame. which is about 2 1/2"

You need to use the mount and bracket from your old engine, and modify the timing covers to fit. It must have the diagonal "prongs" because the other (straight across) design will not fit correctly.
