Windy wind farm
 

Got bored had camera decided to go for a drive on some small highways/backroads. Wind was like 30 mph today so these were whipping around like mad.

There is a HUGE wind farm north of Lafayette, IN on I-65. There are windmills as far as you can see in any direction. It was just put in a few years ago. It is amazing to behold. There are lights atop each one, and it looks like a sprawled-out airport at night.

Too bad a camera cannot get the size and scope of those things.

Budweiser installed a big-ol turbine behind the brewery at Fairfield.
I got to within 200 yards, parked and listened. Sounded a bit like a gentle breeze in the trees. Interestingly, it was calm at ground level.
I'd heard about wind farms a mile from towns that have to be shut down on windy days because the noise drives the natives nuts.

yea i couldnt hear the noise of these things over the wind itself...
