Sick Geo Metro XFI
At present, I'm looking at a 93 Geo Metro Xfi, which has a valve that's not seating properly and appears to need a replacement cylinder head, or one that would need to be machined. According to the sellers mechanic, the engine was compression tested, with cylinder 3 only pushing 30lbs.
My question to everyone, is what would be the approximate labor charge to either replace the cylinder head or have it machined. Thank you. |
Re: Sick Geo Metro XFI
I'd guess machining, parts and labor (I assume they are going to pull the head and install it) would be $400-$800 (depending on how good and honest the shop is). Replacing the head with a professionally reworked head from a junkyard would likely add $200-$300 to the above.
