I was looking for the turbo recommended oil change interval and apparently it varies. Ended up some place where they talk about the mileage they were getting with their turbo velosters now of course I can't find that but VelosterTurbo.org is saying a lot of 25 to 30 miles per gallon while they are breaking them in. of course they expect to get good mileage with the cruise control set to 75 miles per hourand we know that is not going to happen at that speed.

ive heard 45-50. i still am HIGHLY skeptical. i dont see it happening unless these are trips, not entire tanks. staying at 55 hwy for an entire tank...hmmmmm

Cant anyone come up with a light car ? They make formula 1 racers that go 200+mph and weigh 1500lbs and can survive a 200mph crash?

Mazda Has taken strides in lowering the weight of their cars. Hopefully we'll get the skyactiv Mazda2. The other auto makers are working on reducing weight, but it's a balance of cost and consumer wants. All the gadgets and sound dampening add weight. |
Hyundai has their own steel plants and made a high strength steel that is used in the Veloster I think 25% of it, making it 2584 lbs curb weight.

Many manufacturers are making more use of boron steel(high strength). It's part of Mazada's formula. It has shown up in safety and reinforcing parts in the past. Using it for sheet metal means the sheet can be thinner, and thus lighter.
