Ecu s

Ok who and why isn't someone chipping ecus? I know the p07 cannot be chipped well it can but it doesnt work right. So then why isn't someone chipping p28 or p05 p06 with custom super mpg maps? And If so who is I could go for one with a base map of a p07 with possible 02 delete and widen the lean burn range a little and even just lean it out a bit throughout. There is no emissions here so? Why who $$ what's up? I can fix anything but when it comes to programing. Well.. Guy local told me he can do it and price seems good just wanted some conformation that it would or could boost mpg. Currently my vx has a bad 02 so not so good right now. My honda cx gets me 42ish and that's just driving it. So please chime in who has or is running chipped tuned ecus?

My first guess is there probably isn't enough of a market for it.

How is there not a market for it? How many board members here have civics? Alot. All of them could or would benefit from leaner fuel trims. I'm not saying it would be a million dollar idea but it would pay for itself quite soon I would thing as a chipped ecu would only be 200-400$ for what an extra 5-15 mpg? My 2 cents. There was a thread about it in 2008 but he member hasn't posted since then so... Anyone done it? Where is everyone????

You're talking about a lot of research being done for a custom tune for a 15 year old car. Your performance market is a lot stronger than the "mileage" market. Plus, these tunes will only work on a bone stock car. By the time a model is that old, many have been totaled in accidents, modified from stock, or the owners just drive them as cheap beaters, and don't invest a lot of money in them. Most likely you will spend far more money and time developing this tune, than you will make back selling reprogrammed ECU's.

Guess I'll have to be the ginnea pig and try it out.

I wish this guy was around? Like I said it's not that hard wonder if I could get 5 10 interested parties. I'm. Gonna do it regardless

And no they would work on any stock engine the rest of the car would not matter. And like I said its not for me to make a profit at all. Just throwing an idea out. A 200-400 ecu is probably cheaper than a boat tail and far easier to install for mpg gains. Just my 2 cents.

On another mpg minded board a shop is talking about doing it and at over 300$ a pop there are very many interested parties. This board is slow death. Anybody here anymore at all. I've got a spare ecu I got the chip stuff coming and I got a guy burning me some EPROMs so. I will report back an I have a fealing we will be surprised one way or another. Good or bad.
