N600 vs. VW Bug?

I spent most of the day looking for a Honda N600 to convert to electric. I emailed on guy in Seattle but he never got back to me. I've decided that these cars are impossible to find.

And then while chatting with a friend I realized that the answer was right under my nose. I have always wanted a VW bug. I actually almost got one before I bought my civic last year. The VW Bug (old style, not new style) has been one of my dream cars since I was a youngin'.

ANd besides, VWs make for easy EV conversions, at least so I hear.

My goal with the EV is to have a commuting car. I will drive it around town, shopping, etc. I want to have a 50 mile range on it.

Does it make sense to dump the N600 idea and go for the VW Bug? Brand loyalties aside, what would you do?

I know that Tasia has owned a bug or two in her life, and I also know that Bagpipe Goatee is a VW junkie. I'd like any and all help in making this decision.

I'm actually torn between the two, regardless of how my post my seem.

Brand loyalties aside, I

Brand loyalties aside, I think that the n600 is just so much nicer looking. It's smaller, it'll draw more attention. People'll come up to it and you can be like, yeah, it's electric, screw gas, and get people thinking. A bug is just a bug though, so common, not very striking.

LOL. The more I think about it the more I'd like to restore the n600 and enter it into car shows. I'd rather hack up a vw bug (which are abundant) than hack up a n600 (which are rather rare).

I would vote for the bug.

I would vote for the bug. It is much easier to find one in good condition. Or just finding one period.

There are other small cars that are light and would work. How bout a fiat 500

Take a closer look at the Trident. The black space on the side of the car is not a panel...it's a pass through point so the driver can stick their hand out to signal which direction they are turning - the car has no 'light' turn indicators.

OR... for grabbing on to

OR... for grabbing on to poles and making really fast, tight turns!

i had never heard of the trident before. learn something new every day.
