New car
I sold the del Sol (BOO!) since we have a little one on the way. I upgraded to a 2007 Accord V6 6-speed sedan. Drove 11 hours round trip to look at it; I will be doing it again on Saturday when I pick it up.
Fun fact: Despite the fact that the car is 12 years newer, has 41,000 fewer miles, has almost twice the power, and is worth twice as much, my insurance rates went down. |
Congrats on the two new additions to your family!

Didn't hear of any Accord that will fall into fuel efficient car category. Otherwise, congrats.

Some accords were available with 5 speed manuals. You can look at it as "Efficient for a midsize car"

The Accord isn't a sipper like a VX or a Metro, but it's pretty efficient for a comfortable family hauler.

I've known several people that could get in the mid-30s in their 7th Gen ('03-'07) Accord 5-speeds. I went a different route, though, and got the V6 6-speed. I think they only made about 1,000 sedans this way over a 2-year stretch ('06-'07). After '07, the V6-manual option went back to being coupe-only.
I wanted an Accord, but I don't want to get something terribly boring after 2 del Sols and 3 Civic Sis over the past 10 years. |
