I will be leaving early in the morning
My friend and I are driving all the way to colorado tomorrow to pick up my new car.
Here it is: https://i8.ebayimg.com/01/i/05/7f/85/17_3.JPG https://i18.ebayimg.com/02/i/05/5a/eb/70_3.JPG I ended up bailing out on the one in Chicago and the one in Seattle. This one is much closer. Wish me luck, and with any luck I'll be back before midnight tomorrow. |

My friend arrived at 4:40am and we left right away. We drove through Wyomning and down Colorado. On the way there (with him driving) we got something like 12 mpg. We picked up the car and left around 4pm. https://www.gassavers.org/files/image...11.preview.jpg On the way back (with me driving) we averaged something like 13-14 mpg. That isn't much better, but considering we just added 1300+ pounds to the load I'm surprised the gas mileage went UP instead of down. Driving style really does account for a lot. We arrived back in Salt Lake City at 2am and crashed. I woke up at 7:40 and unloaded the car. It's so cute :) |
Nice ride for a car that
Nice ride for a car that old. Not being that informed on older Honda's, I wasn't sure what they looked like. I remember that when I was a kid, our paperboy started using one of these when he got his liscence. I think his was red. I thought it was the coolest thing when we asked him to do a burnout and it actually did it! Not much of one but when you consider the engine, it was quite impressive. My $.02 worth would be: restore it, don't convert it.

Now I just need to figure out how to work on carburated cars. |
Have you driven it yet?
Have you driven it yet? What year is it? Do you know if the transmission has synchros or not [I believe pre-72's did not come with synchromesh transmissions].

AS far as the synchros, i have no idea what that means. (It's a 71 BTW). I've found out that working on this car involves me learning a whole new language. There are parts on this car that I didn't know existed. I guess i've been spoiled with fuel injection. |
