Aluminum Radiator, better or worse for fuel economy?

My 1991 Talon TSI AWD Turbo has a 2 row aluminum radiator that someone installed.

I was wondering if this is better or worse for fuel economy? I did some searching around where it is supposedly better for fuel economy but I'd think it would be worse.

Sorry to be general, but it seems that better mpg is usually achieved when the engine runs hotter?

Thanks for your thoughts.

As far as cooling goes, I don't think the radiator makes a difference. As long as it adequately cools, its fine, and makes no difference in economy. If the aluminum radiator is significantly lighter, that may make a slight difference. If you want to make the engine run hotter, do that with a different thermostat.

If you are running in the city, your cooling fans should be running considerably less and for shorter intervals. I'd be happy to have it.
