New Festiva

I just got a new Festiva. It's a 1992 and it has a 5 speed trans, 166k miles
and it's in pretty decent shape. No rust. Needs a throwout bearing, timing
belt and some other parts I've bought, but haven't had the chance to install
yet.

I've been running the AC on two and have the tires filled up to 40psi. My driving
has been city/highway. I recently filled up my first tank and got 41mpg :D I'm
liking this car a lot so far!

The interior's not too bad. I will clean it soon:

And my emergency trunk kit. Weight balance and stuff haha:

We had those in the UK, moat have rusted away now. They Kia's here though, not Ford, and were called the Kia Pride, possibly the most ironic name for a car ever, no offense!

None taken haha I have no problem calling it what it is...a little crapbox that gets pretty good MPG. I did see a few Prides in the UK though, but very few. I also saw a couple Ford Mustangs though. That was weird seeing right hand drive Mustangs :P

Really? Ive never seen a rhd Mustang, didnt know they made them, although I hear the new model will be available in rhd for the UK.

Ford owned parts of KIA & Mazda. They dropped a cute Mazda engine into a KIA body & called it the Ford Festiva. :)

That doesnt make it any better! ;)

Yep. Got a pic of a new one in the middle of London and another, older one in the parking lot across the street of Blists Hill (I think it was called). I believe I saw one in Edinburgh too. And a TVR...which was pretty awesome :)

I drove a Peugeot in Scotland that I quite liked and it got 53mpg average.
I was pretty freakin impressed with that thing. I think it was a 206. Right
hand drive manual on the opposite side of the road. It was weird at first,
but I loved that freakin car. Having a tiny car like that kind of inspired me
to get a small car with good gas mileage once I got back home.

And no, not really a big fan of Kia's. I'm ok with having a Mazda engine
though. I prefer it over Ford.

Looking at your page...your fuel is 72p a fill up? That's freakin insane!
Sorry, bro :(

Yea diesel is about $10 a gallon in the UK, which is the most expensive place in the World to run a car apparently! Costs the equivalent of $120 to fill my car which only has a tank just over 10 gallons. Now you see why we have these crazy little cars that do crazy MPG's!

Ford_Festiva 09-01-2014 04:24 AM

Yeah, seems like your Renault gets good MPG's though :) I see why there's such a big public transportation system there now. And there's dedicated bus lanes...which is good to know before you start driving so you're not the idiot passing everyone in the bus lane because there's no one in it haha
