GasTracker+ Showing US gallons

Hi guys

I've been using Fuelly online for a couple of years now. I have recently seen notices on facebook about the latest versions of GasCubby. Now, being a fuelly user, GasCubby has no relevance to me until it's fully integrated with Fuelly and I can see my existing data in GasCubby. In the meantime, I downloaded the GasTracker+ app.

It pulls through my data (once I login) fine and shows me my vehicles history. However, when I chose to add a fuel up, I can only enter figures for:

Distance
Cost/ Gal
Gallons

Is there a UK equivalent setting on the app? Can I not enter litres purchased and cost per litre, like I can on the website, but still showing me miles per (UK) gallon on the dashboard?

Cheers

Paul

The Unit preferences are set by the Fuelly profile, which I checked for your vehicles and it should not be asking for Gallons.

Can you try reinstalling the app? Or navigate to the Settings menu and log out, then log back in. After it's finished loading your data again, please try to add a fill-up and double check if the units are still incorrect.

I have the same issue, I have reinstalled the application (uninstall/install), also tried logout/login, I have set the metric settings but I can see:

on the main screen: AVG LAST and BEST 6.0 L/100km, and although the L/100km is what I wanted, it shows 6.0 in every field, while on the web page the BEST is 6.2, AVG is 6.8 so there is definately something wrong here.
When I want to add fuel info I have ODOMETER, COST/GAL. GALLONS so when I fill those up, I get incorrect results.

Seems like the iOS app isn't switching to the proper system after all...

EDIT: also when looking at the list of top-ups I can see how much gallons was fueled and also the price per gallon, not liter....

I'm having the same issue too. Online profile is L/100km but the app is showing some things in L and other in MPG

Under my history is shows L/100km for 13.2L/100km. Under the fill ups (ex Sept 7 it shows 45.1Gal (which is L not G) and 1.47$/G but should be L.

When adding fuel up. It lists cost/Gal then Gallons.

In car info, it lists average/last/best in L/100Km. Total distanced tracked is in Miles (actually miles not KM like above). Under the price section it lists average price per gallon an d average price/mile.

This is strange. I checked each of your profiles as well as vehicle preferences and all checks out.

What version of iOS and what device are each of you using please?

blesio 09-23-2014 08:11 PM

iOS 8 and iPhone 5s

RobertV 09-23-2014 08:15 PM

Our Developer is looking into this. It appears he was already made aware of iOS8 not displaying the L/100km stats correctly.
He says it's a relatively easy fix and will be resolved with the next update soon.

Thank you for your patience!

blesio 09-23-2014 09:04 PM

Thanks for the info.

But please also fix the input in iOS 8, it also shows gallons instead of liters.

IOS 8.0 and iPhone 6.

I also noticed under logs it is slightly messed up.

It lists 45.1 Gal (which is really 45.1 L)

Trip distance is 211 which is miles. Which should list 337 KM.

1.47$/Gal = should be 1.47$/L

lists 13.2L/100km which is correct.

Will wait for next release of software!

Me too... Same problem.. The App displays only in 'Gallons, Miles, MPG'

While the data on the site accurately shows 'Litres, Kilometres, kmpl', the syncing with the App goes for a toss due to the inflexibility in the App.

Time to update the App. Frankly speaking, a great website is being spoiled by an inflexible App.

robuncorked 11-07-2014 07:25 AM

I'm having the same issue here. It seems to do the right calculations for me, but on the dashboard, some of the units are mixed up. Along the left side, it says L/100km and uses metric units. But along the bottom, it says MPG and uses miles.

I have not seen an update recently, per your responses above. Hoping a fix is still on the way - or sync is enabled in Gas Cubby so we can switch to that.

RVWik 11-26-2014 09:20 AM

Hey guys, Im also having the same problem (Just for issue numbers).
Im wondering, do we have an ETA on when the update will come out..

RobertV 11-26-2014 12:46 PM

The update to GasTracker+, which we've renamed to Fuelly Beta, will be submitted to the App Store for review by December 15th!

RVWik 11-26-2014 01:25 PM

Awesome, thanks!

hdasmith 12-07-2014 11:38 AM

Is there an update to this please? It's been a while now, and still no fix.

Same problem here with Liters/KM in my online fuelly profile but only gallons/miles showing up on the App. Using iPhone 5 and iOS8

acprc 12-21-2014 04:36 AM

Same for me. App will only allow entry using Gallons however fuel in the UK is sold in Litres. I haven't been able to use the app for a month which makes it pointless.

Draigflag 12-21-2014 06:26 AM

You dont have to use the app, I just enter the details on my phone on fuelly.com, app seems to be too prone to glitches and bugs, website works perfectly.

hdasmith 01-07-2015 01:58 PM

RobertV - any news on this please? We're a little after the 15th.

Sorry I missed your previous post on my last question.

You can use the website, but it is much slower than the app, important on the forecourt. The website is also not very well formatted on the phone which makes it slower still.

Sorry I missed your previous post on my last question.

The app was submitted on the 15th and it sat pending review by Apple. A week or so later we found out they wouldn't approve it because of the name change we proposed (Fuelly Beta).
So we changed it back to "GasTracker+" (for now) and resubmitted. This was on the 30th.
Last I heard (on Tuesday) it's still sitting there pending review. In the past we've always been given a quick turn-around time, but I imagine every developer in the world submitted updates right before the new year so Apple is likely backed up a bit.

As soon as it gets released, I'm one of the first to know and I'll be sure to let you guys know as well!

Josh made a post on 12/30 explaining this as well- https://www.fuelly.com/forums/showthr...041#post181041

Have you tried Fuelly Mobile- m.fuelly.com
Not as fancy, but a very quick and mobile friendly way of adding fuel-ups on the go.

Oh you add the fuel up whilst at the gas station? It's forbidden to use phones at gas stations here, and illegal to use a phone when driving so I wouldn't risk that myself.

hdasmith 01-08-2015 11:14 AM

Thanks, hadn't seen that website link. Works pretty well.

You're not meant to here either. In fact you're meant to switch it off completely but no one does that. It's an old rule based on old technology not used any more, bit like planes now allowing you to use electronics throughout the flight. The advice hasn't changed with the technology.

Edit: Just realised we're both in the UK.

robuncorked 01-09-2015 08:06 AM

I just saw the update for GasTracker+ to version 2.1. Great to see this update finally come through and I imagine it was no small feat.

One issue that was immediately apparent is my information is still showing Gallons, Miles, and MPG. My settings on Fuelly.com for my vehicle are all set to Litres, Kilometres, and L/100km. When I try to edit my vehicle in GasTracker+ (from Vehicle Info screen), is shows Miles and Gallons. When I change them, and Save, the save doesn't hold and it shows again as Miles and Gallons.

In the previous version, all screens picked up Litres, Kilometres, and L/100km, such as the Log screen and adding a new entry except that the Vehicle Info summary screen showed Miles and Gallons. Now, in the new version, it is showing Gallons, Miles, and MPG through the app. For whatever reason, the app does not accept changing the unit type.

For us outside of the US, this is pretty critical. The numbers I currently see in the app mean nothing to me, rendering it nearly useless.

hdasmith 01-09-2015 08:28 AM

Just updated as well. I'm afraid the update is working less well than the previous version. I still can't submit fill ups in the UK format, and now, in the front page, it tell me my average MPG is 11.6, last was 15.7 and my best was 33.4 rather than 47.2, 71.2 and 152 which is what is should be.

RobertV 01-09-2015 08:34 AM

I'm checking with our developer. I had not received word of the update being available yet, and checking my personal device, still do not show it listed.

hdasmith 01-09-2015 08:56 AM

When I delete and re-download, I get the old version, but immediately get an update to the new one. Don't know if that helps at all.

Did that fix the issue or does it still have the same issue?

hdasmith 01-09-2015 08:59 AM

No, same problems.

joshlehman 01-09-2015 09:37 AM

If you're still having international issues can you please message me via Fuelly Mail. I'd like to get some additional details about your device settings, country, and localization so I can replicate your situation exactly in testing. Thanks!
