Question about basic stats

1 Attachment(s)
hello, as a newbie here, I searched FAQ a also forum but haven't found the answer.

what are the blue (turqoise) numbers (-0,9 and +0,1) under my average consumtion (L/100 km)?

Seems to compare average consumption against value of 6,5, but what is that value?

average (last year's annual) consumption for same car model + engine + submodel?

or something else?

FAQ should include detailed description of the stats. thank you

That I think is the difference between your last tank, so if you used less fuel you'll see + somthing, if you used more fuel than your last tank you'll see - somthing.

I was thinking about something like that, but couldn't get it, so I asked here... the previous fuel up average was 6,2... so it should be something else...

Your previous fuel-up's L/100km was 6,2. The average of ALL your fuel-ups (prior to your most recent) was ~.9 higher than your current average. Therefore it shows (-0.9).

Draigflag was correct in his explanation of the green numbers in question.

maybe my maths is wrong, but:
- overall average is 6,6 (as stated by the stats itself)
- last fuel up average is 6,4 (also from the stats picture)
- previous (before the last) fuel up average was 6,2
- the best ever fuel up average was 6,1
- the worst ever fuel up average was 7,9
- average for last 10 fuel ups is 6,8 (according to dashboard)

so stats indicates overal average is 0,9 higher than 5,7 (this makes no sence when it comes to my fuel ups only)
and last fuelup average is 0,1 better than 6,5

It's a new car and I tracked 13 fuel ups together (one of them partial)
6,6; 6,1; 6,4; 6,7; partial; full; 6,8; 7,0; 7,8; 7,9; 6,2; 6,4

together I drove 6746 km with fueling 495,58 liters in total, from which the last was 43 liters to full tank. so (495,58 - 43) / 6746 * 100 gives 6,71 average (hmm, why stats give 6,6?)

still cannot get what the numbers should represent and how they are calculated...

When I click your page, it converts it all to MPG for me as per my settings so I can't see that. One of these figures you see might be your "running average" that is your average consumption for the last 10 fuel ups. Only when you go on your full profile do you see the full consumption of every fuel up. Is this the issue?

porubcan 09-24-2014 11:14 PM

the dashboard (https://www.fuelly.com/dashboard/) shows running average for last 10 fuel ups and that's 6,8...
the car details shows 6,6 and it should be overal average (if I understand it correctly)...

porubcan 09-24-2014 11:26 PM

regarding the overall average, maybe not last, but first fuel up (51,51 liters) is not counted, so if I adjust calculation:
(495,58 - 51,51) / 6746 * 100 = 6,58 - so rounded 6,6 - so overal average should be calculated OK.

the question regarding green numbers is still opened and IMHO it looks like it is more for Fuelly team than for community... going to search for support.

We're looking into this. The calculations are exactly the same as they always have been, so nothing has changed recently.
But we're going dig a little deeper to figure out where the calculations may or may not be missing point.
Give us a day or two please.

thank you very much for your effort.
