Gassavers Dictionary of Technical Terminology
 

Over the past several years, I have participated in many internet formus, boards, lists etc... Most of them have been automotive related. Lucky for me, I don't usually have problems understanding the associated terminology and acronyms and didn't see much need for a dictionary for newbies. But after about a week at gassavers, I have been stumped on several occasions. So maybe we do need a reference with definitions of key technological terms and acronyms associated with saving fuel. Also, we should include the thing where they spell the woord like it sounds.

To get the ball rolling, I will submit a few technical terms to the experts for a full and thorough definition.

1. WOOT (Possibly a more extreme version of WOT?)
2. Snizzle (not sure of the spelling, possibly that thingy in the fuel injector that goes up and down?)
3. meh (manifold exhaust heater?)

Hell yes I've been waiting for a post to show up in light of SVO's presence (whom is guilty for bringing these expressive terms into sight)

1. W00T - an extremely excited expession/synonym of "hoorah!" I know this woord to originate from the city of Mesa, Arizona in 2001.

2. Snizzle - its a *cool* synonym for an unknownst to me...word. Origin: West Coast USA territory's

3. meh - This is the fun one! If you just watch this: StrongBad Email 48
...its a new age way of saying "I don't know. (with a shrug)"
Origin: Atlanta, GA (or the burbs of at least)

You are correct about w00t, which is generally from woot woot, which seemed to be popular back when I was in fifth grade, but I dunno why.

And I think snizzle should be shizzle, and I dunno where that came from but from Snoop mehbe? I dunno, I picked it up from friends, popular culture = meh.

Meh, meh I got from the simpsons, when bart is like meh and then marge is like WTF and lisa is just like: "m-e-h, meh."

Mehbe is a form of meh, cuz I just dun care that much about mehbes.

And I totally forgot about the Simpsons usage, you are right.

Yeah snoop is THE famous one for using Shnizzle or "fo shizzle" = for sure...Here in the D we use "fo sho" ...meh

"shizzle" is slang for "sure." It was popularlized by "Snoop Dogg" the rapper in the 90s, who would often say, "for shizzle my nizzle."

I personally love observing the changes in language. It's just fascinating.

Yes, a joke. Just my strange sense of humor. Often times people can't tell. I did not mean to offend. I was just curious what those terms meant. Now I know. :-)
