welcome, MetroXFI
let me be the first to welcome MetroXFI to the site! (and the 3rd suzukiclone owner, not that i'm counting...)
xfi contacted me a while back through metroMPG.com and i recommended he head this way for some scintillating efficiency conversation ;) if you've checked his garage, you'll see he's got the king of metro misers in there: the ultra fuel-stingy XFi model. but the kicker is what's on the clock - something like 35,000 original miles. (am i right on that, XFI?). looking forward to watching his mpg climb to stellar heights! |

Let me be the second one to welcome you :)
As much as I like Hondas, I'm really glad to see people with other car makes and models join this site. |

Thanks MetroMPG and Matt. I enjoy both your sites very much. I was never one for chat rooms, or such, but it is very nice to be able to throw ideas, successes and even faluires off of a group with a common interest.
I had been looking for a low mileage Geo Metro XFI for a while, and happened across a lead for this one. I drove from PA to VA a month ago and purchased it. When I bought it, it had 34,081 miles on it. In a month I have put approx. 1600 miles on it. It took a little trial/error and tune up items to get it back CLOSE to EPA ratings (I believe the oxygen sensor was a major culprit). And am currently running oversized tires and believe I am overgeared. Looking forward to switching back to stock tire size. Even with that... Last tank, while utilizing numerous tips from this site, I achieved 49.90 mpg. Looking forward to being consistantly into the Mid 50's. (with dreams of 60's):) Thanks again for the warm welcome, and plan on seeing me around! |
