GasTracker+ 3.0

Good News!

We've finally received word from Apple that the new and improved GasTracker+ is preparing to go live in the App Store!

It should start rolling out and notifying of an update in an hour or so.

You'll still use the same login as you do now (Fuelly.com credentials) and this will replace your existing GasTracker+. Play around with it and let us know what you like about it here!

Please use the feedback feature from the left hand menu to send us feedback, suggestions or to communicate about the app. Please be patient for a response, we have a very small team. You can also reach us at support@fuelly.com.

Thank you all for your patience and support!

Why am I now showing 212MPG rather that the 56MPG it should be showing, settings are set to UK MPG, fuel in litres.

Also the Fuelup Total Cost is showing in $ not £

ForzaGraham 09-10-2015 07:52 AM

I have the same problem, I'm at 472 mpg when my scooter shows 124 on the website ?

TXEditionLB4x2 09-10-2015 08:41 AM

It looks good so far, and I'm already adding suggestions through the new Feedback option.

RobertV 09-10-2015 10:49 AM

We've been made aware of the display for UK MPG being a bit off (lol). This error is due to converting units from gallons to liters and back again incorrectly. We've simplified our math, and have a fix for the erroneous MPG being displayed. We're waiting to see if any other bug reports roll in before submitting the update.
Keep in mind that no data was harmed or modified with this bug; just a final display calculation issue in the app. Your data is still being stored/reflected correctly as it should on Fuelly.com and new data entered via the app at this time will still be accurate.

LittleHim 09-10-2015 10:52 AM

Looks good, but looks can be deceiving. I've sent a few things thru the Feedback. Things that if they appear in Gas Cubby 3 at release time will cause me to delete all Fuelly apps and accounts and move on to smaller and worst but more careful in testing.

When I open it up, it's stuck on the What's New screen with all the new features. How do I get past this and get into the ap?

jfgarnant 09-10-2015 12:23 PM

Hey guys, so far the app is better then it was but still a few bugs. Services are missing a lot of "services" that are on the website. Additionally, the "services" show up then disappear from the "All Logs" screen. It will say on some the service in black and then other will be orange.
With that aside, it is much better then it was. Please keep working on this thing, I love it.

What device and OS version are you using? Have you tried a fresh install of the app? This has resolved the majority of the crash reports I've received this morning.

Do you mean the service list is missing some, or services you've logged for your vehicle are missing?
Perhaps a fresh install may help your situation as well, as nothing should be disappearing.

You sir were quite correct. Appreciate the advice. All appears to working after a fresh install (ie, delete app and hard reset). Will keep you posted.

Oh, and thanks for following up and being proactive guys. I am on the road a lot and this is very handy for expenses and mileage tracking. Best of luck and thanks. Keep it up.

robbieracer1 09-10-2015 12:56 PM

I'm running 7.1.2 Yes, fresh install, then went through the whole process again, stuck on new feature screen, reboot phone, sign into fuelly ap, sync completes, then click button to continue, keeps crashing...

I was going to ask what device you're using, but I see you posted in the other thread. I'll follow up there.

As per others; UK MPG is way out. Second attempt at login saw no vehicles in garage. Third time of use and every time there after app just crashes out to home screen.
I am using iPhone 6plus 128GB on IOS 8.4. No other Apps running in the background, so this is not a conflict/memory crash.
The website dashboard returns correct data with no corruption.

We're aware of the UK MPG bug (see my post above). Bug fix will be submitted hopefully later today (we're running through it internally first).

Lazarus 09-11-2015 01:22 PM

This was after installing for the first time ever today - you can't get a fresher install than that ...

I have now deleted the App and shall await better feedback from the community until I restore it to my IOS device.

If you're experiencing a crash, more often than not, a reinstall will fix the issue. I'm not sure what it is about Apple/iTunes, but in my experience and based on user's feedback, reinstalls are far more necessary than any app I've ever installed on my Android device. :whistling:

bacalao 09-12-2015 10:02 AM

I use the web site on my iPhone. I got the message that there is an app available . Checked it out in the App Store. Your reviews are horrendous for this new version. No way I'm trying it until the reviews get better and/or you fix it.

In the meantime don't bother with the get the App message on the web site. Seems silly to direct people to the App store when you are getting ripped for a poor app.

I hope you get it right soon. It would be nice to have an App. But in the meantime I've been using the web site on my iPhone and that has worked perfectly for 3 plus years.

Cheers

The first time the v3 GasTracker launched, I was able to enter my credentials and then it hung on the data sync. Now it just crashes immediately. I have uninstall/reinstall and same thing happens.

This is on my iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1.2 and the GasTracker app launches, I see a white splash screen of the new changes/updates (it is too large for my screen) and no "OK" button to click and after a few seconds it disappears...if I double click the home button I see it is still running, I can select it but it will disappear a few seconds later. I restarted my phone, same issue. Deleted GasTracker and reloaded it from the AppStore...same issue.

RE: Version 3.0.2
Device: Apple iPhone 4, IOS 7.1.2

Installed version 3.0.2. The first time I opened, the update notes screen maximized to where it was so large that I could not tap on the "X" to close.

Closed the app and reopened. Signed in. It was syncing, but never finished the sync operation. Closed the app. Deleted the app. Turned the device off. Restarted.

Reinstalled version 3.0.2, again . . .

Opened app. Notes screen maximized to where I couldn't tap the "X" to close the notes screen. Closed app. Reopened the app. Signed in. Syncing still . . .

Finally! Clicked continue, and crash!

Close app, and reopen. Crash! Actually, it just went into auto-minimize mode.

When I put the app back on the screen, it's got the updates note screen that's maximized to the point that I can't get to the "X" to close it.

So, version 3.0.2 is the same as 3.0.1, and the same as 3.0.0 as far as being usable.

And, that's my story.

The End

jupiter 10-06-2015 08:04 PM

Issue with the latest version. Cannot go past the "whats new Screen" I see the same issue also even after fresh install. "The whats new" page has a "x" on the top right to close it but it is off the screen so cannot touch to close the page. it also crashes very frequently just by sitting idle on the "The whats new" page i am using the Iphone 4 with IOS version 7.1.1

There's a thread that's populated with primarily iPhone 4/iOS7 users with similar experiences.

We're working on trying to reduce the memory usage to help you guys out.

LDB 10-06-2015 09:14 PM

I just switched over from an Android Note 3 to an iPhone 6+. On the Note I used the website via the browser. The app is very different as far as layout etc. but it works just fine on iOS9. I did have to hunt for the spot to change it to miles since last instead of odometer reading even though I'd changed that online. I'm quite satisfied with it.

r2fi 10-22-2015 01:14 AM

Hey, i'm having an issue with the app on my iPhone 6. When doing a new fuelup and i want to choose the fuel type i go with LPG/CNG but once i tap on it, it doesn't take me to the LPG/CNG options, it just takes me to a blank screen. Gasoline and choosing octane ratings work fine though.

Still no progress on this?

syaoran68 10-26-2015 02:23 PM

just update to the new ios 9.1. I had added my car on the fuelly website then looked to my phone app but nothing was updated... Logged out and logged back in to make sure everything was ok and now it says i have no vehicles in my account even though on the website i have 2 cars listed.. uhh what is going on.

when i login to the account and the syncing starts the app crashed back to the main IOS screen i assume something is happening around then.

Upcoming update should have a fix for this.

Current internal update we're testing is addressing this issue.

A fresh install might actually resolve this crashing issue.

3.0.3 has been approved and should start rolling out to your devices within the hour.
Awesome turn around time from Apple!

This update has-
+ Improved memory management for older devices
+ Additional settings available on vehicle edit, specifically turning on or off city / hwy percentage tracking
+ Fixed update of display stats when a fuelup is deleted or edited
+ Fixed selection of non-gasoline fuel subtypes
+ Improved performance in calculating average or best fuel efficiency
+ Further sync improvements across the board

On 3.0.3 I entered a cost/L as 0.999 and litres as 25.490 and it calculates the total cost out to 25.465. on the log screen it shows unit price as $1.00 and total cost as $25.46. The calculations are correct but the rounded values should be to different decimal places. The total cost should be to 2 decimal places and the unit price should be to 3 decimal places.

Still can't delete unneeded fuel brands or Payment methods.

Oddly the location I fuelled up at today was not showing up, been using that station for years and was not showing up in previous versions, after saving then editing fuel up twice the station appeared.
