A little bit of Man maths, think how much you will be saving in fuel with the Insight! That will all help to rebuild the house. :)

If it's watertight and warm, then the house is fine...

I won't be saving any money on fuel, as I'm running it as a second car, so all the other expenses will cancel them out, plus I'll only ever doing a few thousand miles a year. Sadly my house is neither watertight or warm :(

Think of it as an investment then.
The Insight was one of the first modern hybrid cars available for sale, and one of the few cars to use an all aluminum unibody.

Yea I am. It's at that age and rarity where it won't loose any more money now, if anything, prices will begin to rise as so many technical/Motorsport/engineering loving people appreciate the way this car has been designed and built, they are very sought after. Some even call them a "modern" classic. I figured my Clio has saved about £2000 a year V's my old car, so its money I would have otherwise spent of fuel/tax/repairs/insurance on my old car ;)

Do you have anything like vintage car registration we have have to US?
The basics is that you except limitations on the amount of driving of the car, and maybe even what the trips are for. In exchange, you should get lower insurance rates.

Yea similar, they are very particular here, they need to know where you live, what your job is, what hours you work, how long you've had your license, whether you have any motoring offenses or accidents in the last 5 years, where the car is kept during the day, the night, what modifications you have be it after market alloys, tinted windows or go faster stripes, annual mileage, what the car will be used for etc etc blah blah. Takes a while just to get a quote to be honest. Most "classic" car policies are very cheap, to insure my old Fiat 126 was less than £150 a year, however most companies determine a classis as a car that's 25 year old or older.

Congrats on the Insight, I have been looking at them too on the used market, I like the green color very much. And if you get bored of saving fuel, you can do this:

Yes I like that green too. Car is so rare, can't afford to be too fussy with the colour though! I'm wondering where the majority of these were sold given that 17,000 were produced, I'm assuming Japan, but only a few hundred were sold here. I'm surprised it sold so well in the US with its small size/engine and the cheap fuel there, doesn't really suit the market.

Car arrived this morning, now it's here I'm quite excited. Besides a few stone chips at the front, this car is almost perfect for its age, can't believe how straight the panels are considering most of them are soft aluminium. Here's a tip for your insurance, don't be rushed into buying it immediately, companies will take advantage that you need insurance and charge more. By starting the policy in 3 days time, I've saved a considerable 20% off the premium! Just another way these crooks try and con you out of more money. The guy has driven it another 12 miles or so, it's showing as a full battery again, but the IMA light is still on. Really like this car, you sit so low, feels like a sports car. Interior is immaculate. Anyway here's some pics of this quirky little ride, enjoy!
