Nissan acquires interest in Mistubishi
One of my emails, Car and Driver I think but don't remember, had a teaser headline saying Nissan has acquired Mitsubishi. BBC says they have taken a 34% stake.

Someone needed to throw a lifeline to Mitsu :coolsmiley:

They were doing pretty well over here, the Outlander plugin hybrid is the best selling plug in car in the UK. I think shares fell after the emissions scandal, Mitsubishi admitted they had been manipulating fuel consumption figures for 25 years! Nissan are part owned by Renault too, so could be an interesting combo.

No caption required to know which CEO is which. "Mr. Masuko, blink twice if you feel you were ratted out by Nissan in order to get acquired by them after the stocks fell! Well done Ghosn, sleazy but well done." |
Ha ha!
I appreciate the Outlander PHEV is doing well (and considered one, till I saw the price!), but other than the unpopular Mirage, and the Rare Evo, I can't place the rest of their current line up... |
No I see your point, a pretty limited range and each segment vehicle didn't really stand out enough to make it a competitor on the market. Apart from the L200 pick up which is constantly winning awards in the commercial sector, and is very popular here in rural Wales with farmers, the rest of the range were a little bland and dull. Let's see what the future brings for them, better to see them revived than die I guess!
