Honda HR-V Knock error
Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and i don't know if i am posting in the right place (i hope so!) :) So, my problem is: I have a Honda HR-V from 2001 with a 1.6 liter VTEC engine D16W5. The engine was rebuilt (i chose the car especially for this; was supposed to be "easy"). Everything is in working condition without a problem. Works almost flawlessly. But i had a kncok sensor error (after the rebuild). I replaced the knock sensor and the error is still present - from that i concluded that the problem was not the sensor. I have googled some forums and it appears that the engine cannot advance ignition timing. I can adjust the timing manually, but i need to do it every so often :(. What did i do wrong? Because i did soooo many things that i cannot even imagine where the problem is... I am an electrical engineer, not a mechanic, this was supposed to be my "initiation" into mechanics... Any ideeas? |
For some forums, there is an option to post in specific threads assigned for unique brands. Considering its absence, you have posted in the right place.

As for your problem, I don't have a clue as to its solution.

Is the wiring and connections from the sensor to the ECU all good?
