MetroXFi changed his name!

Why? Cuz you got some plates and wanted to be a pimp? I must admit, I am very jealous!

XFi 04-07-2006 05:55 PM

XFi

Yeah, thats it.

I guess thats why they call it a vanity plate :)

Don't think the average Joe will know what it is/means/stands for, but I like my car alot-even if no one else does. It's been years since I had a car I thought I may keep for more than a few months or a year. I figure if I get a plate for it, I won't be tempted to turn it for a profit.

kickflipjr 04-07-2006 05:58 PM

The XFI plate is awesome.

Can you even turn an XFi for a profit? I thought it was the kind you bought as both a car and a casket.

XFi 04-07-2006 06:13 PM

NICE

Car/Casket LOL.. :)

Definately can turn these for profit. Check out the XFi on ebay...over 2 G's now and still over a day or so left. Shines a little more than mine, but has alot more miles.

That's insane, you can get a gosh damn crx for less than that and a 7k swap and you're running 12s on a stock 6 spd engine, :p

I've always wanted to pick up a metro for like 50 bucks.

XFi 04-07-2006 06:18 PM

Yaaabba Daabbba Doooo!

There are $50.00 metros out there...if you want to 'Flinstone' through the rusted floors (and frames).

Shoot, there are free cars all over that just have engine troubles, I figure of anything an XFi or something powerless people will want rid of off their lawn, :)

XFI Ebay

Funny, it just hit me. The Ebay listing is the guy that gave me the lead on my current XFI from VA. I sold HIM my 93 XFI for the drivetrain(drove him up from VA). It's a small world. At least there are a few other XFi geeks out there :)

XFi 04-07-2006 06:47 PM

Still had his email address and told him to check out gassavers! Maybe another Metro Owner on the way!

Just changed my name and some info/avatar on same acct. Didn't open new one. It did change my 'time listed as member', but nothing else. Updated all old postings with new info. Thanks

Yup, and I got a chipped ECU from a guy who also sent me indexing washers and who is getting me a free transmission. :)

Yeah, but I'm the same person and technically I only passed on the indexing washers, because XFi was nice enough to get them for us.

Someone else better want them so we can keep spreading the love.

Ok, WAY OT, but I saw a Metro parked at a house near me that has to be sitting on at least 20" wheels. I'm going to take a picture of it and post it.

Tammara would kill me if I came home with another car. Also, they'd probably want $10,000 because of the wheels.

awesome licence plate, xfi. i just assumed it was a photoshop spoof until this thread started.

you rock for boasting your xfiness to a world that's generally more concerned about hemifying everything.

That blue xfi went for $3,383.33 on ebay! Crazy!

XFi 04-09-2006 06:18 PM

That was Popup's

They are getting REALLY good coin right now. Every time gas goes up .20+ cents people flock to ebay for economy. When gas was over $3.00 I sold a base model for $2200 to a guy in NY.

People really search for the XFi's after they have had a Metro and learn that there is a higher rated one out there. $3,383.33 is good money for that...makes me feel good that I have a lower mileage one...NO....RESISTING URGE TO MAKE PROFIt...super powers diminishing...must make modification for fuel economy...

MetroMPG 04-09-2006 06:38 PM

i hear you xfi. i finally

i hear you xfi. i finally joined the suzukiclone army a year ago this month actually. and i had a relatively hard time finding one at a decent price - shopped for about 4 months before i got firefly #1. the good ones and the cheap ones were being snapped up *extremely* fast. a few examples of "cream puff" cars i missed out on: Gone in sixty seconds

i ended up making a 20% "profit" when i sold firefly #1. and i spent freely on it for maintenance & upgrades (i.e. if i had known i wasn't going to be keeping it i could have easily made more like 40%).

i practically had to buy it over the phone - i promised the owner a $100 non-refundable deposit if he would agree not to sell the car until i had seen it (the next day). while i was there looking it over, guy's phone was ringing from prospective buyers, and someone else showed up to see it. same story with the blackfly.
