At this time, we are working on finishing up the final touches of aCar 5.0 to release for testing, we should be ready to begin the test in several weeks.

aCar 5.0 will function just like the current version of aCar, but we have updated the look and added the ability to sync to Fuelly in real time. The ability to sync to Fuelly is the most challenging part of the new version, so we will ask all beta testers to sync with Fuelly. If you do not wish to sync your data with Fuelly, it will not be required with the released version of aCar 5.0, but we will require it for the beta test to make sure that we catch all of the potential bugs caused by syncing.

No timeline for the final release.

It depends on how smooth the beta testing goes. The less work required to correct the issues found in the beta testing the sooner the final release will be available.

I sent you an email. You will need to access Google docs at some point, there isn't much to fill out, you should be able to easily complete the Google doc portion on your phone.

We did experience a slight delay in releasing the beta, but it should be ready later this week.

I would like to be a part of the beta if you are still looking for people.

You should be receiving an email from Fuelly in a few minutes. Just answer the two questions and you'll get the invite as soon as we slay the final few bugs.

I'm a long-time aCar user (donated waaaaay back when), but have stopped using it with my new car, simply because I've lost data too many times. I'd inquired about testing when you acquired aCar, but that was some time ago.

I'd like to try the Beta as well, please!

There have been a couple of minor bugs that we've been chasing down.

I'll post here, Twitter, Facebook, etc. when it does go out. If you don't get an email, we'll make sure that you don't get left out.

I would also like to beta test the new 5.0 version of aCar.

Just like some friends from the forum, I'm a bit disappointed with the aCar about the work the backup, and was just about to change the app to another (decided to access the site of acar and fuelly to see what's coming before the swap to drivvo).

My LG G4 just went bad with the bootloop, and since cloud backup isn't automatic, I just lost one whole year of data. :/

I still like aCar very much (being a pro user for years), but you guys need to update it asap. So, could you please send me an email with the information to install and use the new version, please ?

You have great timing. I was in the process of sending out the beta activation link to the list. You have been added. Check your email for instructions and the opt-in link to download the beta.

Where abouts do we lodge feedback/bug reports for the beta?

The best way is to submit a bug report through the app in the Advanced Menu - Contact Support. Please send the App logs and a copy of the backup data.

You may also post questions, comments, concerns or anything else related to the beta in the aCar beta forum. I just checked, you do have access and should see it just below this forum.

Many of us have been impatient for months/years waiting to be able to enter data via a PC and sync new data to the mobile Android app and also be able to have new data entered in the mobile app uploaded to the web interface. Since the first post in this thread states: "aCar 5.0 will function just like the current version of aCar, but we have updated the look and added the ability to sync to Fuelly in real time", I assume the beta version contains this functionality?

Yes, that is the way it works, data syncs both ways.

The most important feature is the syncing. Too many users have lost years of data from a complete phone crash and didn't have a backup file saved off of the phone. This is designed to eliminate that, but the syncing is optional.

Thanks! I signed up and tried it out. Even posted a couple of things I found over in that beta thread. Overall it is working smoothly for me so far. Just a couple of glitches that I came across but maybe those are things I just don't see how to display and just need direction on?
