Tesla Truck reveal announced

So Elon Musk put out a date (October 26th) for revealing their new truck. There seems to be quite abit of hype surrounding this truck and what it might mean for most consumers (https://www.city-cars.org/tesla-anno...ew-semi-truck/). Though im really not sure if im quite sold on the idea yet. I mean it would be great to be able to save in my day to day life. But im not sure how Tesla is gonna make these batteries hold a charge long enough for these trucks to drive 600miles on a charge.
Anyone else have insight on what this might mean for the trucking world?
cheers,

The thing about a truck is you can use a huge amount of batteries and still keep the weight about the same. The more batteries the greater the range.
The push for electric trucks is to advances the quest for autonomous trucks!

This is not a battery powered vehicle, but a hybrid using hydrogen I believe, with a range of over 1000 miles. Powering something this large using batteries only would not work.

The Mercedes Benz truck uses batteries.

Found this, albeit from the Daily Mail. so it could be total rubbish.

THE ALL-ELECTRIC SEMI-TRUCK
The entrepreneur has teased the trucking industry with the prospect of a battery-powered heavy-duty vehicle.
Tesla hopes that such a vehicle could compete with conventional diesels, which can travel up to 1,000 miles on a single tank of fuel.
Tesla's electric big-rig truck could have a working range of 200 to 300 miles to compete with more conventional diesels.

I must be thinking of this one, with a natural gas turbine system.
