Me too. I had a Peugeot once, and would never have another, even if it was top of the reliability list. People form opinions, rightly or wrongly, and it leads to choices in life that are often ill founded.
For 20 years I would not consider a Japanese car. I was soured by the "Jap Crap" of the 70's and 80's. I wouldn't consider a Ford, based solely on the 50's and 60's Fords I had. Totally illogical. I now have a Japanese car and love it!

I think it's silly not to adjust your opinions in relation to how technology has changed in the last 40-60 years. It's a bit like saying you'll never own a VW because of Adolf Hilter's input....I mean c'mon. But then you're entitled to think whatever you want, however silly.

I agree, it is silly. But with dozens of marques to choose from why pick one that has given you bother in the past? However long ago!

It's all about averages, I had a fiat that fell apart around me, my brother had a similar car with the same engine, and didn't give him a single issue in 7+ years. It's luck of the draw with cars, but if data proves the majority of cars by a certain manufacturer are reliable, you can afford to take a chance. Also, to compare a car from 40 years ago to now, it's like comparing the moon to the sun.

Yes. It has to be more about how a vehicle is driven, yet paired with a brand's line-up results. I've had a brand of a car before that took so little maintenance it would be called an automotive mystery. It was sold in great condition and for a semi-premium amount at the time. It was not a model known to be on par with a Toyota Corolla as some would think but did just as good, maybe better. It was in the same size class though. It could be like all things. If there's good stewardship their will be rewards in and of their self. Anyone know someone who happens to break cell phones like they're going out of style? Some people are just harsh with everything and complain that everything is garbage. It's primarily attitude. On the flip side there's been 40 million Corollas sold since they were invented and you know for a fact many of those drivers thrashed those cars.

Yea true. Back on topic, this new DS7 has some beautiful details, like the gemstone headlights.

That is really nice looking. I'm looking forward to getting to see them.

And now Peugeot are the most dependable car brand in the UK with the least problems per vehicles. Good work Peugeot, that extra capital invested in quality control has obviously been worth it!

That's very impressive. I don't see Subaru on the list. Are they not sold there?
