I just read about this on the ToyotaNation forum. It looks like it would give the Focus ST and others a run for the money. I'm not sure if you can see threads without being a member but just in case.

Been watching various reviews since its reveal, one hell of a drivers car. Similar shape, style and power to mine, but heavier and larger engine so won't be as fuel efficient. To get a car with this much adjustability, damping, exhaust, e diff, steering etc in this price bracket is pretty special. Most of those things will be wasted on the long straight American roads, so it probably wouldn't sell well anyway, but here in Europe where people love to drive, I can see this being a huge hit!

Yes, here in America all of our roads are straight and flat, nobody likes driving, and everybody hates performance cars. :rolleyes: ;)

You know what I meant, not all, but most. People seem to favour comfort and ease of driving rather than performance and handling, not least because the US is huge and the distances you travel are vast.

Crossing Texas is 885 miles. For the same distance you can start in Maine and finish in South Carolina, a total of 13 states and the District of Columbia. I'm not certain how many nations one might cover in 1425 kilometers in Europe or the maximum distances in the U.K..

837 miles will get you from John o' Groats to Land's End, from the very north tip of Scotland, to the very south of England.

1392 km will take you from Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, through Germany, Austria, Slovenia and into Croatia.

So the U.K. is about 50 miles less than crossing Texas. I wonder how many people actually travel from John O'Groats to Lands End in a year? I'd love to have a dollar for every one that crosses Texas in a year. And I'd like to try both drives in the i30N, just for the fun of it and keeping a bit more on topic.

Yea but crossing the UK would be more fun and interesting ;) You'd be surprised how much history there is here, Wales has more castles per square mile than any other country in the World.

For size comparison, the 50 countries in Europe are slightly larger than the US, but there's not much in it. I wish the UK was connected to mainland Europe, having a huge natural moat has its benefits, but trans-euro road trips would be alot easier to plan. I guess technically we are connected to France if you take the tunnel under the sea.
