I bought a carton of cigarettes on my 18th birthday. Then shared it with all my underage smoking friends. :p

Anyway, I'm only interested in voting, so I guess I'll register, :p

PS: Thanks everyone for the well-wishing. I'm not longer the lonely 17 year old on the site.

Hey is there still a draft - you have to register for that TOO!!!

SVOboy 05-19-2006 01:05 PM

The draft does exist, but I will not register. When I applied for financial aid I wasn't 18 so I didn't have to register then.

I am anti-war and I will remain that way even if it is inconvienent or people don't like it.

The draft doesn't exist, but the selective service does. Just so you know it's still required by law to register with selective services.

Ah, let's call tax cuts rebates and pretend like they're something they're not. How about the "temporary refund adjustment" from the Simpsons...

Anyway, requirement by law means little to a person acting in accordance with virtue.

Was talking to one of my clients yesterday - one of his in-laws got called to Iraq as a National Guard and got killed by a roadside bomb driving a truck - he was 48 years old with family. Pretty sad
