Which will you choose?

Picking the most anticipated for 2021.

If I was buying a brand new car now, I'd go EV. I don't know why some countries are still investing in ICE powered cars. Some places in Europe are banning ICE in just 4 years time, although the UK is holding on for another 9 years. Thank god they're not banning old ICE cars.

I am giving serious consideration to buying the new MG5 EV Estate.

That is a really nice looking car. My dad and I used to go once or twice a year to look at MG and Opel back in the "good old days" when they came to the states. I miss that, mainly for the outings with my dad. If MG came back with that car it would be very tempting.

As MG is now a Chinese company who knows, you may get the chance after the change of leader!

To be honest, that MG5 has classic Chinese awkwardly odd design that looks like an old Passat made love to an old Astra, and we all know it's not going to be exciting to drive or have the best infortainment system/safety features. However, as a mode of transport for the masses for people who don't care about driving or how they look doing it, then can't argue with its value for money. And to be fair, the 7.3 sprint to 60 time is alot quicker than some of the EVs I've been looking at. If you want one, you can actually get one with a £8000 discount for less than £20,000, that's cheap for a brand new car, never mind one with an electric power train.

Personally, I think it looks gorgeous. And a quantum leap from my 2006 Jazz.

It's a good looking car but I'll avoid buying Chinese for as long as possible.

Why? Almost everything else you own is manufactured there. They make far more electric cars than any other country, and many companies have several partnerships including some big names like GM and VW. The 7 year 80,000 mile warranty is very respectable for cars sold here too.

Yeah, it's either buy or do without in many cases. I still want to see jobs and products brought back to this country though.
