Despite having a VAG car I would not consider a VW. My nephew had a top-end Golf and had to have both front wings replaced, under warranty, for rust. Six months later he noticed rust on a rear wing. The dealer examined it and VW's response was, "Yes it is rust, yes it is perforation, yes it is in warranty and no we are not going to repair it.".

Yeah, my SportWagen was in the dealer this past week. Rear hatch won't open, and apparently the extended warranty they sold me doesn't cover a door that won't open. This is on top of every time I bring the car in for service, nothing that's broke is covered. Supposedly one of the managers of the dealer is supposed to figure out what they're going to do for me by Monday.

A very unacceptable response. Seems strange VW would do that although obviously they did. Makes me rethink wanting one for fun.

It's awfully convenient how the thing gone wrong is one of the not covered things in the extended warranty.
