Shell Fuel Rewards Issue/Update
 

It seems 4 days ago Shell increased their minimum fill requirements from 8 gallons to 10 gallons which caused me to lose platinum status, 10 cents per gallon savings, for the first time since it rolled out. I had 11 out of 12 qualifying fuel purchases with my last few purchases being between 8 - 9 gallons. My new daily is a Honda Insight which has a 10.6 gallon tank so I guess I'll have to run near empty to reclaim the 10 cents per gallon savings.
I fill up once a week with an average weekly commute of 450 miles. I'll send updates on the quest to 10 gallons.

When I filled up on Monday I suddenly realized that I only had a $.05 discount, not the $.10 discount I was used to. I guess now I know why.

I was able to fill up my Insight with just over 8 gallons of fuel, but I also brought along a fuel can which allowed me to reach the 10 gallon mark. At least now I have fresh fuel for my lawn equipment while I work on using up the reserve fuel in the Insight.

When I looked on the Fuel Rewards app I have zero progress. Apparently they're not counting diesel fuel towards the rewards tiers. If so, I guess I'm done buying fuel at Shell.
