Thanks for the positive responses! I have been reading on here all morning... seems like the more I read the more questions I have!

I am also very impressed by the MPG some of you guys are getting. I didn't think some of those numbers were possible.

I think it's a great combination for this car. It has a good amount of power, was a very cheap swap to do, and was very inexpensive compared to most other swaps. It's not a rocket by any means, but that wasn't my goal either. I wanted to find a good balance of performance and FE, which this engine seems to accomplish pretty well.

Oh, and I got those stickers from https://www.shockerstickers.com/store/

cool thx for the link.. Yeah I know what you mean about looking for balance... I want both economy and a little power to.. well relative to the d15 1.5L 50WHP I have now... I would just rebuild D15 but by the time you figure the labor hours and cost of seals rings and the verious other thing you should replace while the block is open. It is just as much to do a complete swap, since it is very straight forward swap.

Are those miata rims on your car?

Welcome to the the site

SVOboy 06-15-2006 01:52 PM

They are, this is discussed in the miata rim thread I made, aren't they nice looking?

EDIT: Damn, they are good looking, do you have the center caps?

Thanks. I wasn't sure if I liked them or not when I first bought them, but they have grown on me. Plus, I know of very few Civics running these wheels. Most Civics around here have Honda/Acura OE wheels (HX, VX, meshies, twisties etc). I have only seen one other Civic with miata wheels on it. For the price/weight ratio, you really can't beat them!

I do have the center caps but I can't fit them over my lugs. I have conical gorilla lugs on there and they are longer than the OE mazda lugs. I don't really have any desire to put the center caps on there, although it would be better for FE reasons I suppose.

Here are a few more pics for you:

Oh, one question. I input some of my gas milage logs that I had on my computer. How do I get that graph to show up that shows my milage?

SVOboy 06-15-2006 02:20 PM

It should be at the bottom of your garage page, I'll check now!

EDIT: I dunno, I just tossed matt a pm about it.

Welcome fellow Honda brother. Especially to another STD owner like me! I love my STD! :o

Not that I mind, plus it does kind of prove that Hondas seem to get better FE than the majority of vehicles out there (my dad just pulled off a ~44 mpg hwy trip in his 1999 EX which is rated at 35 mpg hwy = 20.5% over EPA...he drives gently).

I just kind of like diversity.

I love my hondas, but having a 3 cyl metro is VERY cool in my book!

SVOboy 06-15-2006 02:25 PM

Oh def, next year if I can find a metro beater up at dartmouth I'll prolly buy it, :)

Anyway, the gaslog graphs only update once a day, so the graph should be up tomorrow.

Welcome to the hunt for mpg.
