Fuel Efficient Car Info
 

Along the same lines as DiamondLarry's Honda thread, how about we post a list of fuel efficient vehicles for FE newbies and sticky it or pop it into the glossary?

I could list a ton off the top of my head, but I'm short on time at the moment, but I will list the Metro - I would list all the Swift clones, but there are so many versions it won't make sense (once again I'll organize the info later)

Make: Geo/Chevrolet
Model: Metro
Style: Hatchback or Sedan
Trim: Base, LSi, XFi
Seats: Four
Years Produced: 1989-2000 (1998-2000 as the Chevrolet Metro)
Notes: 1995 and higher models are considered to have the best styling. 1989-1994 models achieved the best mileage with the XFi boasting the highest FE in North America at the time. 3-cylinder 1.0L is best FE engine. 1.3L 4-cylinder available post-1994 models.

What do you consider FE vehicle? EPA over 30 city?

Good question...:confused: I didn't think of that - this goes back to a previous discussion we had on the subject.

We could state the reason it is considered fuel efficient or what it is best used for. For example, the Metro is a great city commuter, but not fantastic on the highway and you definitely aren't going to tow a holiday trailer with it...an F350 diesel is actually pretty efficient in that regard.

Just list what YOU feel is an FE car and I will organize it into something that makes sense.

Another criteria to add in it its fuel economy for various models. If possible, include both EPA economy and economy as presented in consumer reports(given that the EPA method of measuring fuel economy is notoriously inaccurate and flawed).
