Retire a Vehicle

If you sell a vehicle, give it away, or aren't going to be fueling it up anymore for any reason, you can now retire a vehicle on Fuelly.

Retiring a vehicle will take it out of your garage and put it under a new heading called Your Retired Vehicles. When you go to fuel-up or add a note, you won't have that vehicle as an option anymore, and it won't show up on your dashboard.

Retired vehicles do stick around in the system though. They're still available for others to browse, and they're still linked from your Fuelly profile.

To retire a vehicle, go in to edit its properties and look for the new Retire button:

From there you'll have the chance to change the vehicle's description if you want to let others know why you're retiring the vehicle.

Once retired, you won't be able to edit the vehicle beyond removing it entirely from the system. You also won't be able to bring a vehicle out of retirement, so please retire vehicles carefully.

Oh, and as an extra related feature, you can now set your primary vehicle in your site settings (link in the upper-right of every page). Whichever vehicle you choose as Primary shows up first in your list of vehicles across the site. Here's what that looks like:

Being able to designate your Primary vehicle will let us do more with vehicles in the future, so stay tuned.

Being able to designate your primary vehicle is a big improvement, many thanks!
