Belated Intro
 

SVOboy pointed out that I never posted an intro here. I thought I did but apparently not. Anyway, my background is pretty simple. I've been heavy into the FE game since about March of this year. It's hard to say what pushed me over the edge...maybe the gas prices, maybe I just wanted to see what could be done with my car (2002 Accord Coupe, 5MT). So I started thinking about fuel additives first, but quickly threw out that idea (temporarily, anyway) in favor of focussing on high-efficiency driving techniques. That's been a lot of fun, and the benefits have been huge. My average FE (logged religiously since I bought my car the previous summer) was 30mpg even, and at this point I've seen seven consecutive tanks over 40mpg. Can't complain!

I'm a degreed mechanical engineer, entering my third year in "the real world" which consists of working in the nuclear industry. I do a variety of things there, including mechanical component design and analysis of production problems. There's also quite a bit of customer service mixed in. In school I did a fair amount of laboratory research and worked to build an IC Engine lab with my advisor, and did a senior design project that involved converting our engine to run on hydrogen. I took that project to a couple of ASME conferences, which was an interesting experience. So I guess that's about it for relevant info.

Well, it seems a belated welcome is overdue from me as well. It's amazing how quickly these threads drift off the radar around here. :)

BTW, you could go up from 6th to 5th place in the Top Ten lists if you re-list your Prius (The Warp Wagon) as a Hybrid instead of a Gasoline car. :)
