I no longer drive a car. I drive a very large truck. It kicks *** because I can park like an ******* in parking lots.

Wow, that's great!

Keep up that positive mental attitute!

At least it sounds likes it's parked most of the time...

Anyways, I found myself biking to the FedEx dropoff instead of driving the other day -- slowly working my way back into biking since it isn't 110 degrees out.

Also, our public transit sucks. Amtrak can take you from KC to St. Louis and on to Chicago (like that does any good when Southwest can fly you in 30 minutes, where the train takes 4 hours), but the streetcars around town went out in the 40's. The bus system is better, but doesn't go anywhere I need to go -- great plan. We need light rail NOW, and every year it gets shot down in the polls. I would gladly park and ride to the airport, and take a light rail of somesort. At the same time, I'm guilty of being bored and hopping in the car. It gets me out of the house and brings balance to the force.

Re: Motorcycles and Scooters. KCMO is not bicycle friendly. We have lots of Harleys and high-permormance bikes, but few scooters. I'd definitely get run over. As a matter of fact, an unfortunate motorcyclist had a tractor-trailer cross in front of him and killed him instantly. I need 4-wheels, steel or otherwise.

Why do I drive a car ?? ,

-- because my wife is not strong enough to carry me around on her back.
