Partial Fuel ups have changed my global average

I added two partial fuel ups this morning and noticed that my global average has changed from 8.4 to 7.3. I thought that checking the partial fuel up should not effect the average. Is this correct?
Will this automatically correct itself when I do my next full fuel up?

No, partial fuel-ups do contribute to your overall average even though no fuel-economy is calculated on that particular fuel-up. For calculating that global average, Fuelly takes your total distance driven and divides by your total gallons/litres filled (including partials).

Ok thanks, that makes sense.
