Finally got some LRRs
Well, it was time. The old tires were shot.
The new ones on the Integra are the Michelin MXV4-Plus XSE. After researching the issue, these were the only ones that could prove LRR status, as being part of Michelin's "Green-X" series of LRRs. There was not a lot to choose from in my size, so of course they cost an arm and a leg. But alas, the interior noise is lower -- WAY lower -- those old ones droned loudly. Now I can hear the engine at speed and the radio  . I need to get the proper pressures in and wear-off the break-in layer. Then hopefully an improvement should be seen. The butt-dyno/skidpad noted good grip in corners and easier acceleration. Of course since these have tread (as opposed to the old ones), there's a little squealing in hard corners and some scrub, but the sidewalls seems to have identical firmness. For warm weather performance, I say  at this point. I hear they turn to rocks in cold weather, tho. MMWV, so I'll track the progress. RH77 |
What size were your tires? I may need to get some tires for my Saturn. I was told by a sales rep at Tirerack.com that Goodyear Assurance Comfortread's in the 185/65-15 were LRR as well.

OK, I'm back. They're 195/60-15 -- had 'em shipped to a local installer and had the mount/stem/balance/alignment done this morning. They're pretty pricey, but I never skimped on shoes. RH77 |
