13" LRR tires?
The dated Greenseal report only tests 14" and up, so I was wondering if any of the 13" versions (RE92s, HTR200s,etc...) would have the same characteristics? I've read about other RE92s not being LRR, and the specs on t3ht1r3r4ck seem to indicate that the 13"ers are not LRR.
165/65 R13 SL 160 A A 882 lbs. 35 psi 10/32" 19 lbs. 4.5-6" 4.5" 6.5" 5.2" 21.4" 984 175/65 SR14 84S XL 160 A A 1102 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 16 lbs. 5-6" 5" 7" 5.3" 23.1" 902 While the Sumitomos all seem to have the same specs and all go to 51psi stock. Any ideas? |
The only RE92 that is LRR is the 165/65/14, weighing in at 13 lbs. That 13" weighs a whopping 19 lbs. What up with that???

No clue, but I saw an ebay auction with it listed as a trailer tire. In any case, it seems like the Sumitomos are the best bet at the best price, barring some other tire that's not listed on the greenseal report.

Just some first-hand experience with the Sumitomo HTR 200s...I have them on some 9lb Enkei 13x6" rims. 215/50/13 and they do weigh 19lbs a piece!

What tire came OEM on the VX?
My '98 Firefly has its original OEM Goodyear Invicta GL LRR tires on it (11,000 km), and I think they roll very well. Don't know what I'd get to replace them (don't think they're available any more). |
13 LLR tires

I have done alot of searching for LRR tires for my swift. The only one I can find was the Kumho 793 tires. If you go on the web site it says increase fuel economy very low wear rating but the only draw back I thought was tire pressure 35PSI max.I put them on and found no reduction from my OEM invictas fuel economy.Tire temps ran about the same. They are narrower than OEM tires 155/80 13". |

Nokian i3, but I am not sure if the Finnish 13"s are sold in the US (we get tires made in ROC by Nokia(n) here in the US....grrrr)
The Dutch made Vredestein Quatrac2 (were good, have used Vredestein tires for 20 odd years, both classic and modern car tires) may be another option: https://www.tiresunlimited.com/ALL%20...ed_quatrac.htm Experience with Sumitomo was years ago, HTR-Tour, on Mercedes, they were good tires then. |
