Need way to indicate a missed fuel-up entry exists

my previous site (mymilemarker.com) gives me the ability to indicate that I missed entering a fill up before the one I'm entering now, and that it'll skip calculating the mpg for the entry I'm filling in. see more "inside"

I'm encountering a bug now. I have a spike in my graph between Nov 2007 and Dec 2007. It's because I missed an entry in late november. There's no way I got 66 mpg (drool).

Heh. I was entering the same request at the exact same time!

I'd like to see this feature as well - I normally keep good records of my fill ups, but do miss one occasionally...

Not only missed fillups, but "partial" fillups as well. I occasionally run low, but I'm not near my favorite (read: cheapest) gas station, so I just put in a couple of gallons. These are showing up as spikes and throwing off the calculations. Not to compare, but mymilemarker.com gives you the option of marking the entry "didn't get to full." They also include "had a recent oil change," though I'm not sure what this does to the calculations (if anything).

I definitely like the social/community aspect of this site, though, if you can work out these kinks. This is sort of like a hypermiling contest site for me (I only do the "normal" hypermiling techniques, not the insane ones...I value my life too much).

@ mrmelot I asked the same thing to and was told by fuelly that partial fillups would not cause any issue...but I can see how they would...hmm

I was told "a fuel-up or just $5 worth of gas. It shouldn't affect your data at all."

mrmerlot - you can accomplish this by doing the math yourself. Say, I put 1 gallon in to get me to that cheaper station, where I now fill up with 10 gallons - just put down a fillup with 11 gallons. I would agree that having an option to record partial fills would be better, but until they provide it for us, you can just do it yourself.

Partial fuel-ups are available now.
