Adding a Tank Size.

So, just a quick question. Any possibility to have the ability to add the size of your fuel tank to help calculate partial fuel ups for people who choose to utilize it?

For instance. I have a motorcycle. If I know the gas tank is exactly 2.5 gallons and no more can fit in because there is nowhere else for it to go, then theoretically a script can be written that takes into account, the size of your tank, how much fuel you put in last fuel up, the amount you are putting in it now, and still be able to give you accurate calculations using the difference.

I don't think this would work for cars considering you have a lot more play in filling up the tank, even though your car may have a 12 gallon tank, you can still "top it off" up to the cap to give it extra.

Just something I felt like throwing out there as I was riding down the road coasting on fumes because I passed a gas station earlier in the day but wasn't on "E"

I understand where you're coming from, but I think that would be a lot of work to solve a problem that doesn't come up very often. I know you can't always fill the tank, especially in a car, but our current system does take the partial fuel-up into account for the average fuel economy calculation. So with a partial you won't get an MPG rating for a particular tank, and I don't think that's enough of a problem to warrant complicating things to that degree.
