D15z1 wiring into a 1992 Civic CX chassis
 

I've recently finished a swap of a 94 d15z1 into a 92 Civic CX.

I am using the CX chassis wiring, with the VX engine wiring harness.

I have the EGR box, O2 sensor, and non Cali P07.

I haven't wired it up completely yet and was wondering if you guys have any advice on the wiring?

The only things I can find searching here or on Honda-tech are for swapping into the older EF chassis.

Basically as far as I can tell I need to hardwire the fourth plug on my VX engine harness down to the ECU. Is there any instructions anywhere on what pins to hardwire them to?

Are there any other wiring modifications that I need to do?

The EF write ups should have the proper ECU pins if they include them at all, so you should try looking back at those. If not I'm sure someone here will post up soon, I don't think I have z1 ecu pinouts handy. Good luck and welcome!

What'd you do with the cx engine?

I purchased a hammered CX shell for $100 and I've been slowly restoring it for a gas saving car. I have built quite a few hatches over the years but most with performance in mind. I wanted to try something different this time.

Because it was a shell I have never seen the CX engine.

Basically I started with this

did a lot of tucking/welding/painting

and then installed the z1 engine

I have to clean up the motor still, and the car is reassembled now and driveable. I just need to finish the engine wiring, the interior, and then bodywork and paint.

I'm about $600 into the car so far including $300 for paint supplies

the only difference I believe is the 5th wire for the o2 sensor, and the EGR control box. SHouldn't be more than 2 wires you need to hardwire to the ECU.

Where do you live to find a shell so cheap?

I live in Logan, UT. It's up near the Idaho border.

The reason it was so cheap is because it lacked a title. It took a while to get one but its now legal and registered with title in my hand

Nice and I read your n600 thread. Looks awesome. I have a thing for older hondas. I've collected s600 info for years now. I have the factory shop manuals and other stuff. Wish I could find an older honda to fix up after this one

You missed it... I just sold my z600 3/4 months ago. It was just sitting in my driveway collecting dust. sold it to some guy in colorado.

I know that there are a number of n600s around here in various states of completion. Might want to keep your eye out for one.
