Which GEO/Firefly/Swifts were the best FE models

My CRX HF was stolen last week, and once I settle with my insurance company, I'll be looking for another FE car. I'm familiar with Hondas, but don't know much about GEOs/Fireflys/Swifts. I'm pretty sure the 2 door hatchback with the 1.0 3 cylinder engine is the ones I'm interested in, but I believe there were models of these that got the best mpg.

Can someone give me a breakdown of the different models and what the differences were?

XFi is the best, though I don't know much about them other than the 4cyls sucked, :)

The 4 cyls don't suck unless they have an automatic transmission. My 4 cyl 5 spd Swift gets 40 around town and 50 on the hiway (at 60 mph). It has substantially more power than the 3 cyl and cruises at very low RPM on the highway.

I think you're right, QDM. I'd like to try a 4-cyl car - I bet with technique, you could get some pretty good numbers. The taller final drive would indeed be a bonus on the highway (that's the same f.d. I've got in my car now).

mrmad: the XFi is the one to beat. But they're relatively rare - and if you're serious about getting one of these cars, I'd also have to say that a 96 and up should be considered simply because they're ScanGauge compatible.
