I'm about to make my first fuel stop since i've made an account here. I have one question though. If i fill up from lets say, 1/2 a tank, to a full tank. Does that count as a fill-up or a partial fill-up?

As long as you fill to the top it's a full fuel-up.

The only time it doesn't count as a full fill-up is in the event you don't top the tank off, so to speak.

Regardless of how much fuel you have left in your tank, as long as you fill it until the pump "clicks" or stops because it is full, it is a full fill up.

I do not recommend doing partial fill ups if you like to accurately measure your fuel economy on here, as it will really mess with your numbers.

There is nothing wrong with doing a full fill-up off a partially used tank of gas, it can still yield accurate MPG numbers. The most important thing is to do the same thing at the gas station every time ("until the pump "clicks"").

But I will say doing full fill-ups off partial tanks will yield lower MPG give the same constants as you're driving around with more weight (gas) more often.

Conversely driving until you are on "E" and only filling your tank half way will yield better MPG, since you are carrying less weight (gas) around, but you have no accurate way to measure this other than a real time MPG meter such as https://www.plxkiwi.com/
