Hit by high prices and fees, some gas station owners stop selling fuel

"The way I see it is, I'm doing all the work of providing the labor, the wages, the electricity, the lighting, the maintenance of the pumps, the repairs and the insurance, which is quite substantial," Curro said. "I'm doing all the work, and somebody else is getting fat on me."

Dang that really sucks. But gas stations don't make there money off the gas ever. They make there money when you go in and buy chips or pop. And all of that other junk. Heck even off of lotto tickets they don't make much.

Where I live there use to be a gas station inbetween Tulsa and Okmulgee. They call hwy 75 the beeline. So everybody knew this place as beeline grocery and gas. They pulled there pumps, tanks, the whole shooting match after selling fuel for 40 years. They where sick of the politics and lack of profit. The down side tho is the country folks in that area have no place to buy fuel now.

There was a time when everybody made money off gas. Now its a money looser... cost alot to have a so called leader to get folks in your store. :)

I don't even look at the prices when I pull into the gas station. All I remember is paying $25 for a full tank for my civic when I got it and now I pay $35 for a full tank of gas. It hasn't even been a year since I bought the car.
