Ball joints this weekend :)
 

Almost done replacing my ball joints, just one more to install. Thankfully the old is already out, which is the biggest part since I have to drill out rivets. Could have been much worse seeing as how these rivets have been in there for 44 years. Interesting how new something can look when it has been covered in grease for that long. Nice and shiny with a little rubbin'.

Also noticed the 1" of dirt/grease on my A-arms. Scraping the underside of my car around grease fittings ought to net me 5 pounds or so for weight reduction :).

I wonder if any control arms from previous/related fords and swappable? Might be worth it even if a little fab is required.

oof i had to repalce front calipers and rear wheel cylynders on my car. i did notice my ball joints are just bolted in :D i did find a new leak and i dunno if im goign to fix it... lol its leaking around the reverse light switch...i swear half the tranny is held together with JB weld

Yes, I am lucky to have this old thing. Nice to be able to come back to Firestone and know that I didn't have to pay them 400 bucks to put in 80 bucks worth of parts :). I am glad I caught my ball joints when I did, my front tires had some pretty horrible wear on them. They are on the rear now after the rotation.
