Boredom is driving me up the wall.

Same as title. I finished school for a while and now I'm on a waiting list for the radiology program at my college. I will apply to other colleges in order to start the program sooner. For the next 1-2 years I'm free, except the fact that I have to work. I go to work and come home and I get super bored.

Before I got up and went to work and then went to school till 9pm. Now I got nothing to do. I started going back to the gym but it only takes 2-2.5 hours of my time.

Any ideas???

video games or got a bike? go to some trails or whatnot. (bycycle that is) or take up some kinda hobby. i dunno what u did as a kid (or how old currently) but build model cars or get into RC airplanes or cars. takes up alot of time (can be initially expensive but worth it imo) its what i do when i have time/money. i dunno how mechanically inclined you are or where u live but do what i do and build a truck. ok i lied a racing lawnmower. its liek an ATV but ive built mine for less than $100. goes 40+mph. (not kidding scary to go that fast tho since A) no seatbelts B) barely any brakes and C) no suspention but accelerates faster than most cars :D)
ill get pics up later

ooh or another thing that yo umay like if you liek walking thru the woods. my dad and i do this thign called geocaching. its where you use a handheld GPS unit and people hide a box of stuff in the woods, publish the corrdinates of it on a website(see blow) and other people put the cordinates into thier gpa and try to find it. once you do, sign the log book inside and if you take anyhtign from inside the box your supposed to leave somehting. its pretty fun to do and a good excuse to get soem excersie wanderign around the woods.

heres a website: https://www.geocaching.com/

Couple of simple time wasters

1. Blog
2. Myspace/Facebook
3. MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Game) such as World of Warcraft

#3 is guaranteed to absorb hours and hours of your time for only 15 dollars or so a month. #1 and #2 are not something I do, but I know a lot of people who do waste time that way as well.

You can always try sleeping.

Or fixing up a car if that kind of thing interests you.

VetteOwner.... please do post some pictures. I'm already imagining the lawn mower races on King of the Hill.

already have video games. Have myspace. Don't want to play video games.

myspace=waste of space

LOL no. it resembles a certian type of truck.(you get to guess when i ever get my pics up!) i gotta take new pics. wish i had my "secret" done but i dunno if its even possible now..

when in doubt build a potato gun. highly fun, cheap to build, but also illegal.(which is why i only suggest if you live in the boonies) so im not saying i have build some.

Stop driving and start biking places. Bikes really increase your appreciation for your destination, plus you will be able to slow down to appreciate things on your route. If you really want to get rid of the boredom, meet some local anarchists. Since generally anarchists (not 16 year old punks, but the real thing) have spent most of their lives doing what they want to do rather than what they 'should' do, they will generally be able to find more sources of fun than someone who just got out of school. I remember one time hanging out with a collective on the other coast. I meant to only hang out with them when they were in town for a night, but ended up going back with them to Broward and spent the next three days going to impromptu demonstrations, dumpster diving and making free zines in the local Kinkos that one of the guys happened to work in.

hobbies are good....

or learn a new skill. What are you REALLY interested in? If I were in your shoes I'd learn a new programming language, but that's just me.

for the summer I'm taking a computer class. I've had it up to my neck in programming language, I absolutely hate it. I was thinking for the next 1-2 years to hit the weights hard, find a gf and learn some new words. My english is okay but I don't want to talk on a middle school level.

VetteOwner 05-30-2007 12:31 PM
